The top requests we’re seeing from processors and renderers going into the new year
News
At ANCO, we’re in constant conversation with processors, renderers, and plant engineers across the U.S. and around the world. Due to this visibility into the challenges and opportunities of our clients, we have a strong sense of where the meat processing and rendering industry is headed.
Based on the projects coming through our pipeline, these are the major trends we expect to define 2026:
Preference for American-Made Equipment
Across both processing and rendering, companies are increasingly relying on U.S.-made machinery. Internationally, there is trust in American fabrication and quality. For U.S. customers, this is due to tariffs, lead times, and predictability. In some cases, large-capacity cookers and parts are now more cost-effective to custom-build domestically than to import from overseas manufacturers who have traditionally dominated that size class.
New Revenue Streams from Animal Byproducts
Processors and renderers are diversifying how they extract value from previously underutilized materials. In 2026, expect to see growth in composting operations and beef tallow and lard processing. As these markets expand, plants are requesting more customized systems to bring these revenue streams online efficiently.
Pet Food Demand Continues to Climb
The pet food sector remains one of the most resilient segments in animal protein. Plants are upgrading or expanding to meet the need. This is one of the biggest drivers behind new equipment orders and modernization projects we’re seeing heading into 2026.
Local Supply Chain Investments
Across the U.S., processors and renderers are building new facilities or expanding existing lines to strengthen regional supply chains, reduce transportation costs, and meet local demand. The USDA has even announced grants to support the investment where a new plant could fill a gap.
Supporting Your Vision for 2026 and Beyond
If you’re planning upgrades, expanding your production lines, or exploring new revenue opportunities in 2026, we’d be glad to discuss what’s possible. ANCO specializes in custom solutions that utilize American-made equipment that is built for decades of reliable performance.
